About | Tigris
👋Hi, we're the Tigris team
Like the Unix philosophy, we do one thing and do it right: storage, built for AI. Tigris is an S3-compatible, globally distributed object storage service that unlocks true choice for builders. Use all the familiar tools you love, mix and match any compute provider, and stay free from Big Cloud lock-in.
In the age of AI, storage isn't just where data sits—it's the foundation every workload runs on. Tigris is designed to keep up with the most demanding workflows: training at scale, low-latency inference anywhere, and safe collaboration for agents working in parallel.
Meet the founders
Tigris was founded in 2022 by the former Uber storage team. At Uber we built and operated the company's global storage platform, scaling projects like Docstore, Herb, and DBEvents, to hundreds of billions of requests daily. Those experiences taught us the importance of architecture that scales, efficiency as a core principle, and the freedom developers gain when storage “just works.” We wanted to bring that same reliability to every developer, not just those inside Uber. After years of building at scale, we started Tigris with a bigger ambition: to give teams the storage foundation they need – global, multi-cloud, and built on our own hardware.
