# When I upload data to Tigris, where is it stored?

I'm looking at using Tigris for something but I'm wondering where my data actually gets uploaded when I upload it. How do I tell where things get stored and how can I influence that so that EU data is only stored in the EU?

## Solution

Generally: Tigris stores data in the datacentre closest to where your upload comes from. If you do an upload in the EU, it'll be stored in the EU. The [dynamic data placement](/content/docs/overview/#globally-distributed-data/index.html) means that Tigris will make copies of the data worldwide as the data is needed, but you can also [constrain buckets to regions](/content/docs/buckets/multi-region/index.html) if you need or want to.
