# What does Tigris consider a small object?

In order to evaluate if Tigris would be suited for a project I am working on, I need to know how big a small object can be. Ideally objects up to 8 KiB would be inlined for my use case. Thanks!

The limits are not documented anywhere as these are not limits but rather storage optimization. Wouldn't you agree?

If there is a large difference in latency, then I would consider it a limit and a feature. Being able to depend on shorter latencies for small reads/writes up to a certain size could affect how folks build on top of Tigris.
