# Tigris storage + Cloudflare image resizing suddenly stopped working

Our app uses a Tigris bucket (via Fly.io) to store images, and Cloudflare's image transformations to optimize them. Today, all these images have stopped loading with the error "ERROR 9504: Could not fetch the image \- download timed out". Was there a change from Tigris that might block Cloudflare from accessing the bucket? It was working previously and we've made no changes to bucket configuration or any other part of the app...

Thank you for bringing this to our attention!

I'm not aware of any recent changes that would block Cloudflare but I'll run some tests on our end to verify the expected behaviour.

Meanwhile, is there any logs or traces from Cloudflare side you can share?

I only see a handful of successful request on our side for this bucket and no errors.

Can you please verify if the upload finished properly? It seems Cloudflare caches the 404 response.

We reproduced the same pattern:

The image URL returns in under a second with a direct request, but  
Cloudflare’s image resizing URL still returns 9504.  
Cloudflare's normal (non image resizing) URL returns 523

We do not block Cloudflare. These errors are raised when Cloudflare’s infrastructure times out while downloading the origin—it’s not an error string from Tigris.

So the object and HTTPS endpoint look healthy from the public internet. The problem is isolated to Cloudflare’s pull to that host (routing, timeout, or an internal issue on their side).

We’d recommend opening a ticket with Cloudflare with both URLs, timestamps, and the fact that direct `curl` succeeds while `cdn-cgi/image/...` times out.

Please let us know any updates of if there's anything on our side we can help with the investigation.
