# CompleteMultipartUpload - can it return error on 200 OK like S3 can?

So it turns out that S3 can theoretically return a 200 OK for a CompleteMultipartUpload call, but still return an error in the body, which is insane, but here we are: [https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonS3/latest/API/API_CompleteMultipartUpload.html](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonS3/latest/API/API_CompleteMultipartUpload.html)

Does Tigris have this same behavior? I guess in general, should I always be parsing the XML responses from S3 calls to look for errors, or can I rely on a 200 OK meaning we have successfully completed the request?

Completes a multipart upload by assembling previously uploaded parts.

Solution

[@spicy_heck_boi](https://community.tigrisdata.com/u/544621819873984522) you can rely on 200, it should be safe to assume at that point that object is uploaded.

In general you should be able to rely on 200 OK to mean success.

In this particular case I'm just making raw HTTP requests, the SDKs were a bit heavyweight for like the 5 functions I need.
